Izvini moram na Engleskoi.

Can you put a bigger engine in a model than it's design?

I have a model designed for up to 0.60 2 stroke.

I have an ASP1.80 spare and was thinking of fitting it.

The plane is a biplane.

What do you think?

Moze stavite neki vece motor na model,

imam ja model, i kaze model je sa 10cc 2t

Imam reservni motor 30cc 4t hocu da stavi.

Sta mislis?

bici problem?

That would be a problem. Weight and torque of the bigger motor would be too much.

It is not recommanded! You must choice right engine on right model. ASP1.80 is twice heavier from 0.60. You lose the balance CG and must put lot of weight on the back of fuselage. The larger engine make larger by-product - vibrations. The smaller fuselage can be damage in air. etc.

If your bipe is same (similar) large of this 120 TS plane, can use the 180 FS. But look good that is the firewall is enough strong. Metal geared servo recomanded  etc.

Ovo je veličina modela za četvorotaktni motor od 30cm3

From the manual

"Your Elder Biplane packs a huge wing area of 1492 square inches, that's 10.3 square feet of lifting surface!
This means that when the model is built within the expected weight range of 7-1/2-8-1/2 pounds, the resulting wing loading range would be 11.6 - 13.1 ounces per square foot! It also means that if you went with the heaviest engine available and went crazy in the detailing and finishing aspects of this model and managed to get the weight up to 10 pounds, the wing loading would still only be 15.4 ounces per square foot!"

Length 130cm
span 2 x 156cm

OK.Your biplane is so big but it's scale type and not acrobatic or 3D model. You do not need lot of power to fly it. The construction is to slight for larger engine. On higher speed this model will be very unstable and very heavy to control. Read in your manual that the manufacturer is recommended .60 to .90 cu in engine for this plane.
Conclusion: With your OS 72 FS this plane will fly excellent. Don't try 180 FS.
Balancing before fly!
